What is SMTP?

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a set of commands that directs the transfer of emails. When you send an email, it will be forwarded from your email client, (in this case this software Application), to the SMTP server, (in this case Gmail). The server will then relay the mail to the recipient’s email server and a copy of the email will be in the sent folder of your gmail account.

How to Use Google SMTP Server?

Google Gmail allows third party applications to access its SMTP relay service

In this section, we will show you how to send emails using Google’s SMTP server.

Once your Gmail is up and running, change the following settings in your Gmail account

Usually a "Quick settings" screen pops up

Click on the option to "See all settings" to expand the window.

There are a number of options in this section. The only option you need to set, in this case, is the "IMAP" option.

NOW, we allow this application to have access to your Gmail account.

Depending on how you use google on your computer The next screen can be different from one computer to another.

Look for the section that deals with "Security"

Now look for the section that deals with "How You Sign Into Google"

Now you see the option for 2-step verication

Part of your 2-step verication will be a phone call or text message from google

Now you will enter the code from Google

Now you will be asked to sign into your email account again

Once two-step authentication is enabled, go back to the security page

In the Google Account Search Box type the following:

"Where are the app passwords"

before you finish typing a menu should appear

You will be asked to log in again

App passwords lets you sign into your Google Account from apps on devices that don't support 2-step Verification. You'll only need to enter it once so you don't need to remember it'

Now you can click the "Create" button

Copy and paste this password in the SMTP settings listed in the "Edit User Settings" form under "Admin" on your main menu in your program.
